Title: Business Litigation Paralegal

Location: Multiple Locations (NC) Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington | Hybrid or Remote Eligible

Our client, a leading civil litigation firm with a strong regional presence is seeking a skilled and detail-driven Business Litigation Paralegal to join its dynamic legal team. About the Role:

As a Business Litigation Paralegal, you will provide direct support to multiple attorneys, assisting with all phases of litigation. This includes case management, discovery, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with clients, experts, and court personnel. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of North Carolina litigation experience and a strong command of state and federal rules of civil procedure.

This position may be based out of Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington. For well-qualified candidates, remote work is possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and assist in preparing briefs and supporting exhibits
• Prepare medical/event chronologies, deposition summaries, and document analyses
• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
• Maintain case files, trial notebooks, calendars, and deadlines
• Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials
• Record daily billable time accurately and consistently

Qualifications:

• 4-year degree, or ABA-accredited paralegal certificate, or 10+ years of relevant paralegal experience
• At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (North Carolina required)
• Strong knowledge of NC and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology (NetDocuments, Aderant helpful)
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working independently and in a team setting
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines and record billable time (aspire to 100+ hrs./month)
