GROUND BEEF MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Salaried Non Exempt Maintenance Plainwell

DESCRIPTION

Position at JBS Plainwell, MI

JBS is hiring for quality, motivated, people to join the JBS team on our production floor as maintenance mechanic/electrician. These positions include but are not limited to the following duties:

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Repairs and maintains electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• MUST follow company safety policies with no exceptions.
• Perform all Predictive Maintenance scheduled for them on their shift.
• MUST complete monthly training module assigned to them.
• Maintain shop 6S policies and cleanliness.
• Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
• Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems.
• Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues
• Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
• Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources.
• Communicate with their supervisors on findings during the troubleshooting of any equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the building, mechanical and/or electrical trades.
• Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
• Able to navigate and/or modify equipment settings/recipes to help improve production efficiencies.
• Goal oriented and possess root cause analysis skills.
• Work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant.
• Tends to other duties as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• The technician will take a test they need to move to the next pay grade.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to perform basic math.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SAFETY

All personnel will be train on all the below mentioned safety requirements

• Must wear hearing protection equipment.
• Must undergo safety training on CO2, liquid nitrogen, lock out/tag out, hazardous communications and other topics as deemed necessary by the company.
• Use caution when walking on wet floors.
• Use proper lifting technique.
• Follow company's confined space policy where required.
• Follow all specific safety procedures when using tools.
• Always use the lock out/tag out procedures when working on equipment.
• Must participate in monthly safety meeting.
