We're seeking a skilled and experienced attorney to contribute to our growing library of practical legal resources. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in healthcare regulatory law and share your knowledge with a wider audience.

About the Opportunity:

Project Focus: You'll be crafting insightful "how-to" practice notes, comprehensive forms, detailed checklists, and thorough legal analyses. Your work will cover a range of critical healthcare legal topics, including regulatory compliance, transactional matters, and more.
Content Creation: This role involves both drafting new content and enhancing existing materials. You'll ensure accuracy and relevance by incorporating guidance derived from case law, statutes, regulations, industry customs, and your own practical experience.
Specialized Areas: Your expertise will be vital in addressing key healthcare law issues such as licensing, governance, healthcare fraud/anti-kickback/FCA, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, and related areas.
Content Refinement: In addition to creating content, you will also be performing taxonomy and language analysis to ensure clarity and consistency. Experience in content editing, such as contributing to trade journals, magazines, law firm newsletters, or other legal publications, is highly valued.
Remote Flexibility: This part-time position offers complete remote work flexibility, allowing you to manage your schedule effectively.
Project Timeline: The project is scheduled to begin in March 2025, with an initial duration of 3 months and the potential for extension.
Hours and Compensation: We anticipate a commitment of 10-20 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of $45.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop clear and practical legal guides and resources.
Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis.
Maintain accuracy and consistency in all content.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory law.
Demonstrated expertise in drafting legal materials related to healthcare, hospitals, and health systems, with a focus on regulatory, transactional, and compliance-based matters.
Strong understanding of health law issues, including licensing, governance, healthcare fraud/anti-kickback/FCA, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursements.
Exceptional writing, editing, and legal research skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
experience with compliance and understanding of compliance functions.
Understanding of HealthCare.gov, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Experience with conducting surveys and handling licensing issues.
Experience in drafting newsletters and handling reimbursements.
Proficiency in legal research and use of templates.
Experience contributing to publications and magazines.
Familiarity with transactional operations.
Ability to create and manage checklists.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, self-motivation, and detail-oriented skills.
