Job Description

Essential Duties:

• Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical documents per internal customer requests.
• Engineer or propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
• Prepare work instructions and train operators in making products with technical documentation.
• Comply with government and industry-specific requirements and standards by studying existing and new requirements and anticipating future requirements.
• Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Research, plan, execute and deliver results for the assigned projects.
• Identify, propose, and develop new technologies, IP, and products.
• Keep up with new technology development and industrial trend.
• Work with internal/external customers to accomplish results.

Requirements:

• Authorized to work in the US.
• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Coursework or equivalent experience in optical wave in crystals required.
• Knowledge of the inner working of fiber optics components, modules, and sub-systems such as couplers, splitters, WDM, DWDM, birefringent optics, optical attenuators, and fiber sensors.
• Thorough understanding of technical concepts. Able to use knowledge, creativity, and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
• Must be organized to create and maintain engineering documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
